GUIDELINES (TO BE READ BY THE TEACHER)
- Teachers must give the assessment rubric to the learners before they start with the Essay task
- This Assessment Task is set according to guidelines and assessment options as presented in the FET Geography CAPS.
- This task must be completed in the class under formal assessment conditions, supervised by the educator. This task is due in term 1 and teachers must give learners a clear management plan with due dates and deadlines
- Learners are allowed to bring their resources to the class.
- Use the rubric to guide you when writing the essay.
- Read all sourced articles carefully and critically, prior to writing your argumentative essay.
- You are required to write an argumentative essay in your own words. Learners who merely ‘cut and paste’ articles and pictures or copy information directly from the source will be penalized.
- You will be given time to collect the resources for the task
- The essay will be conducted in the classroom under the strict supervision
- You MUST choose from the topics given below
