Experiment 607: Launch
Stats/strengths [ ].
"For the last time, I'm not Rufus!"
Pod Color: Blue
Gender: Male
Special Abilities:
Oh dear, this is very terrifying experiment, even for Jumba! Sole purpose is to be prototype doomsday device, one never fully realized until 611, but regrettably, we shall get to him soon enough.
607 uses his large front teeth to literally tear a hole in the fabric of space and time and if he was to create a large enough hole it would cause the universe to collapse in on itself. Experiment 607's small tears in the fabric of reality repair themselves after a few seconds.
Thanks to fellow fabric of reality benders like 606 , 607 was reprogrammed to tear holes in reality to get rid of nasty chemicals in power plants, not to destroy whole universe. Sometimes, Little Girl's resourcefulness surprises even Evil Genius self. As or the name, it is highly possible it was short for being launch-ed into oblivion by 607's powers, but this hasn't been fully proven (and for good reason).
True place: At first, I confused this experiment with a Mole Rat named Rufus. But then, when Little Girl and 626 freed the experiments that Gantu had caught, they discovered his capsule. Maybe this capsule that 627 stole from the boy was 607! Oh, if I had known that, I would not have made such a mistake in front of Kim Possible's friend! Well, what's done is done. Eventually, this experiment found his true place by safely disposing of nuclear waste.
This article is about the episode from Lilo & Stitch: The Series . For other characters, see Rufus .
- 2.1 Experiment mentioned
Stitch is running through trees while trying to hide as Lilo had finished counting. While looking around to find Stitch, she eventually finds him in the palm tree. Lilo is not pleased by this, as Stitch was supposed to hide instead of telling her where he is, thus defeating the purpose of hide-and-seek. Suddenly, an aircraft has abducted Stitch from the tree, and Lilo goes after it, but soon loses it.
Back at her house , Jumba finds Pleakley in the living room looking at some magazines, which he refers to them as his "treasure of Earth knowledge." Lilo soon returns back home and tells them of Stitch's disappearance. She then suggests using Jumba's ship to find him. Jumba tells her that his ship is not working, so Lilo decides to rescue Stitch on her own. Jumba warns her that she cannot go on dangerous missions without 626.
Lilo wonders who could do the job better than her until Pleakley finds a magazine cover of Kim Possible . He then tells Lilo that they can go to Kim's website, tell her that they are in trouble, and take advantage of her highly efficient secret agent skills. Jumba then looks at the magazine which soon intrigues him, regarding Kim's impressive resume. Lilo is pessimistic about having to hire Kim and claims she does not need her, as they can do the job themselves. However, Pleakley assures Lilo that the "saving business" should be left to the professionals, as he soon writes an e-mail to Kim reading: "ATTENTION! URGENT MATTER, SAFETY OF THE WORLD AT STAKE, NEED HELP A.S.A.P." and sends the letter. Pleakley then says that they will have to wait for Kim to arrive, though Lilo is worried if Stitch needs them right now.
When Kim, Ron Stoppable , and Rufus arrive to help Lilo save Stitch, Lilo tries to brush Kim off, as she wants to save Stitch on her own. However, Jumba notices Ron's pet naked mole rat. He mistakes Rufus for Experiment 607 ( Launch ) and chases him for most of the adventure, much to Ron's horror. Lilo and Kim decide to team up to rescue Stitch.
Meanwhile, Dr. Drakken and Shego have Stitch confined inside an underwater base, where they both prepare to clone him. When Kim goes out to find the base and rescue Stitch, she gets sucked into a current ("People Eater") and is also taken hostage. Eventually, Stitch and Kim are rescued from their prison by Lilo and Rufus. Everyone then manages to escape the underwater base.
Back on the beach , Jumba is still convinced that Rufus is Experiment 607. However, Stitch takes Ron's pet naked mole rat, sniffs him a few times, and reveals to Jumba that Rufus is not one of his "cousins", but a mole rat, much to Jumba's surprise. Later, Lilo teaches Kim how to dance the hula, and everyone has a good time together.
- This moral alludes to Jumba believing Rufus is one of his experiments.
- This is also the third episode to not have an experiment's name for a title, the other two being " The Asteroid " and " Bad Stitch ".
- Also on Xfinity/Comcast listings, if viewers press "Captions", there are no subtitles.
- While on the plane to Hawaii , Kim mentions her father "being tight with the senator in grade school." Interestingly, about five years later, Jean Smart , the voice actress of Kim's mother , would portray Governor Pat Jameson in the Hawaii Five-0 reboot series.
- Pleakley's collage of Kim Possible and Ron's crude drawing of Stitch both seem to be mirrored the other way.
- When Drakken reveals his plans to clone Stitch, Shego cuts him off with a reminder of his poor luck with cloning schemes, which refers back to Drakken's failed attempts at cloning Kim Possible .
- This episode originally premiered on Disney Channel before a re-run airing of Kim Possible: A Sitch in Time .
- Interestingly, it is shown that Rufus will respond to both names: Rufus and Experiment 607.
- Coincidentally, Nani (although she doesn't appear in this episode) and Kim Possible both share the same voice actress in the German dub.
- Also, Nani and Shego both share the same voice actress in the Latin American Spanish dub.
- It also appears to take place after " The Truth Hurts ", as Ron mentioned in that episode that Drakken hadn't yet used an underwater lair (which he does in this episode).
- Dakota Fanning , Kim's pre-K voice actress, was the voice of Lilo in the sequel movie Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch , which was released four days after this episode aired.
- Kim's appearance in this episode seems to be her Season 1 design, despite the fact that the crossover episode aired in 2005.

Lilo & Stitch: The Series S2 E19 "Rufus" » Recap
"Rufus" is the fifty-eighth episode note the eighth episode in season two's production order of Lilo & Stitch: The Series . It first aired on August 26, 2005, and is a crossover with Kim Possible .
When Stitch gets kidnapped by Dr. Hämsterviel and Dr. Drakken, Kim and Ron help to save him. Jumba also mistakes Rufus for an experiment.
The only experiment mentioned in this episode:
- Launch (X-607): Jumba mistakes Rufus as being this experiment. This experiment is designed to warp the fabric of time and space, causing the entire universe to collapse upon itself.
Tropes featured in this episode include:
- Cassandra Truth : Lilo warns Kim about an underwater current called "The People Eater". Kim ignores her warning and is sucked right into Drakken's underwater lair by said current and ends up captured along with Stitch.
- Continuity Nod : When hearing that Drakken's plan involves cloning, Shego is quick to point out that cloning has never worked out for him .
- Copycat Mockery : Stitch mocks Drakken behind his back as the latter gloats about his plan to clone the former and rants to a skeptical Shego that his cloning scheme is "going to work this time". He gets caught when getting carried away with his "hopping mad" act, which results in Drakken turning around and giving him an Eye Am Watching You gesture before his and Shego's conversation resumes.
- Crossover : With Kim Possible .
- Dance Party Ending : The episode ends with Lilo, the aliens, Kim, Ron, and Rufus all dancing hula.
- Filler : This episode does not have any new experiments appearing and is just an excuse to have two of Disney's most popular TV shows at the time together. Not only that, it feels more like a Lilo & Stitch -themed episode of Kim Possible than the other way around.
- Just a Kid : Kim doubts Lilo can be of any help because of this, despite Lilo proving herself helping throughout the episode. Lilo proves her wrong when she successfully gets into Drakken's lair and frees both her and Stitch.
- The Un-Reveal : It's never mentioned why Gantu's unavailable in this episode resulting in Hämsterviel having to hire Drakken to kidnap Stitch instead. Though, perhaps, Hämsterviel may have grown tired of Gantu failing and decided to subcontract out this time.

Experiment 607: Rufus?
Stop! Stop overthinking it! Yes, this is in fact Rufus from one of the greatest shows of my childhood and I’m sure your own, you’re lying if you say no, Kim Possible. My love for Lilo and Stitch grew more when the television series pretty much confirmed that these two shows, and several others, are in the same universe. It’s like the people who worked on the show were reading someone’s fan-fiction and thought, “You know, this might work. Yea! This will work!” If that was the case, I'm not judging!
Now, let’s get one thing straight. Rufus is not Experiment 607. Although, when placing them side by side, it’s not that hard to see how he could be mistaken for it. They do look alike, with a few differences of course. It’s easier to mistake Rufus for the experiment when realizing the experiment doesn’t even make an actual appearance in the show or the films. Jumba Jookiba has a computer that holds information on each experiment he has created and showing them in a form that is very similar to a blueprint. This blueprint is the only time we see 607 at all.
Rufus was mistaken for 607 by it’s creator, Jumba. I have to question how this guy was able to make so many experiments and keep in check on them. He almost didn’t recognize 007, Gigi, and now he has confused 607 with someone else’s pet. Maybe he’s going mad in other ways?
While the episode is named after him and Jumba makes this accusation, Rufus isn’t the main focus of the episode. He takes part in more of the side story, where both Jumba and Pleakley try to take him away from Ron Stoppable, a main character from Kim Possible. The main focus of the episode is actually Lilo and Kim rescuing Stitch who was taken by a main villain of Kim’s, Dr. Drakken.
It is funny when Jumba and Pleakley go more into depth with 607. Apparently, the experiment is able to warp the fabric of space and time. If you’ve seen the first Kim Possible film, “A Sitch in Time,” you may have noticed the little wink to the fans the creators made.
Going back to the episode, anyone who watched Kim Possible knows exactly how Rufus is. He helps out a lot on some of the more tight situation because of his size. He acts similar to Ron, which is no surprise as the two have been together for years. Yet he does seem to be more focused at times. By the end of the episode he is debunked by Stitch as not one of his cousin, which in turn means Rufus is no experiment.
Still, if he were one, I think we wouldn’t want his one true place of belong to change.

They had a crossover?
And thank you for second best experiment!
You're very much welcome!
I love crossovers! They did it with recess, the proud family and even American dragon! if they had one more where all of those characters reunited with LILO and stitch one last time that would be perfect!!! :satisfied:
:joy: I think I figured out Rufus was NOT an experiment when I saw this episode. I just love Pleakly's reaction to KP. It's exactly how I would react if I met her as I know I would faint too!

- Kim Possible characters
Rufus is Ron 's pet naked mole rat from Disney's Kim Possible who is capable of limited speech. He, along with Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable, appeared in the episode of the same name . Jumba mistook the naked mole rat for Experiment 607 and chased him for most of the adventure. In the end, Stitch managed to convince Jumba that Rufus is just an ordinary naked mole rat after smelling the rodent's scent.
- Rufus is the second character who was mistaken for another experiment. The first one is Fudgy .
- Rufus is the only known character (non-experiment) whom Lilo gave a one true place (in Ron 's pocket).
- If Rufus was actually Experiment 607, he would have been the fourth experiment shown in a crossover episode.

Lilo And Stitch: Rufus
This is the crossover episode in which Dr. Drakken , Shego , Kim Possible , Ron Stoppable , Wade and Rufus appear on Lilo & Stitch: The Series .
In this episode, Hamsterviel hires Dr. Drakken to abduct Stitch, and Jumba and Pleakley hire Team Possible to save him, as well as keep Lilo out of danger.
As soon as Jumba sees Rufus in Ron's pocket, he is convinced that Rufus is experiment 607, who will be named Launch, and he won't be deterred from that thinking, until Stitch states that Rufus is not a cousin, but a "mole rat."
